Fire Extinguishers

  • ASAP Fire & Safety provides the installation, maintenance, hydro-testing, recharge, inspection and customer training (classroom and user demos) of all types and brands of fire extinguishers.
  • We have mobile on-site recharge capability, which provides a quicker turnaround because we don’t have to perform this work back in our shop.
  • Per NFPA 10, fire extinguishers are required to be inspected both monthly and annually. Most customers do their own monthly visual inspection, but for those who don’t want the responsibility, or don’t have the time, we provide that service.
  • Annual inspections involve a check list that covers over 20 points.
  • New tamper seals and tags are installed on all extinguishers during the annual inspection.
  • The most common type of fire extinguisher is the ABC class, which means it can be used for all classes of fires: paper/plastic/wood; flammable liquids & energized electrical devices.
  • K-Class extinguishers are located in the kitchen (Restaurants and commercial businesses with kitchens) and are designed to fight grease fires and to prevent them from re-flashing.
  • C02 extinguishers are designed to protect Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (energized electrical equipment) and are often found in manufacturing/industrial environments.
  • Clean Agent extinguishers (Halotron 1) are discharged as a rapidly evaporating liquid, are electrically non-conductive, environmentally friendly and designed to protect areas like: computer rooms, data centers, telecommunications rooms and labs. The discharge of an ABC dry chem powder in these areas could damage sensitive equipment and electronics.
  • Water mist extinguishers (deionized water) are designed to protect areas where Chlorine is stored, ie a pool maintenance area.
  • Class D extinguishers are designed to protect areas with combustible metals such as magnesium, titanium and aluminum.

  • OSHA requires you to provide annual training to your employees if you have a policy that allows your employees to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire.
  • We provide customer training which involves both classroom and a live demo. We supply all the extinguishers (C02) which won’t create any mess in your parking lot.
  • ASAP is an authorized dealer for Badger and Pyrochem fire extinguishers and the new, enGauge product (monitored extinguishers).
  • enGuage: in an effort to reduce extinguisher tampering, theft, vandalism and to reduce liability and maintenance, enGauge has introduced a new monitored extinguisher. These are designed to alert a monitored panel (security or fire alarm) when a fire extinguisher is blocked, removed or if it loses pressure.
  • The State of NH now requires all new construction over 3,000 sf, be equipped with monitored fire extinguishers. This code may be adopted by other States in the future. So if you’re building a new building in NH that’s over 3,000sf, please contact us for your monitored fire extinguisher needs.
